We spent all of Labor Day weekend working in the house and around the house. It was a full family effort and we could not have gotten as much accomplished as we did without Danny's parents and my parents who helped in various ways. Danny's parents spent all their time on the inside of the house punching nail holes, puttying nail holes, and sanding putty spots. My dad let us borrow his tractor and then helped us clear out all the debris that the construction crew left. I have never seen so many plastic drink bottles and cigarette butts in my life! My mom couldn't actually give us a hand with the hard labor so helped by cooking a delicious meal for us. We got the whole yard cleaned up and hopefully will be able to get the nasty dumpster out there and start getting the driveway smoothed out.
Of course we had our fun events that always happen when we are doing something with the house. I got a huge splinter that went pretty deep in my hand and Dan had a run in with a bench we were tossing in the dumpster that gave him a nice scalp laceration. Luckily it was not deep enough to need to go to the ED, he just needed some TLC from his nurse wife.
