One more funny story to add to the book of this adventure...I forgot to post in the last posting that when the ditches were dug for the new power lines, our cable line was cut.
Dan and I were able to bond while watching old SNL shows on DVD and having quiet time without the TV. Dan called Time Warner to get the cable fixed and while we were in Hartsville they came un-annouced to 716 N. Maple Street (mom and dad's house) to fix the lines. I will only give a few details but I will say that my famous words for this project "never a dull moment in the Wright Reno" can very easily describe what occured on Saturday.
This is what the newspaper headline could have read:
Southern Hospitality shot to pieces as Time Warner Truck is driven on Local Landscaper's grass
A few key players will sum it up for you:
-Dad's front yard (anyone who knows Dad, who has spent most of his working life as a Landscaper, knows that he is VERY particular about his grass)
-Time Warner Truck being driven on grass by a very grumpy Time Warner Cable Man (guess since he was not happy about working on a Saturday but again that was not our fault since we had no idea they were coming out on a Saturday and had called to request service the previous Monday)
-Dad vs Time Warner Cable Man who would not get off of said grass
-Summerville County Sheriff responding to an "armed and dangerous" 911 call
The rest up to your imagination or you can ask Bill Salisbury and he might be willing to indulge the rest of the story.
