Since Thanksgiving...

We had the whole Wright-Richardson side of the family in town for Thanksgiving. Unfortunately we could not host a dinner but we did host a field trip for everyone to come out and see the house! After we ate a huge and delicious Thanksgiving dinner and got our naps in, we caravanned over to check it out. Almost all of the fam came over, walked through and we explained what we have done and how far we have come and were very pleased with how excited everyone was for us. Note-It is not nice when we take the time to tour friends, etc and only get jokes about our lack of meeting deadlines or how little it looks like we have done. Those instances I just want to say "listen here buddy, if you knew what was good for you then you would just exclaim praises for what we have accomplished or you can just put on your working clothes and find out what it takes to paint walls with 10 1/2 ft ceilings..." maybe I just need to scrapbook before and after pictures just to prove the work we have done....anyways sorry to ramble...the family did nothing of the sort and were all very excited for us and so it was great to be able to show off our hard work. :) Hopefully the next time they are all in town (Easter 2011) we can actually host a meal or have guests use our new guest room.

Since Thanksgiving, we have been coordinating with subs to finish the job and working on sanding the Man Room walls. The Man Room walls are a very slow sanding process because the boards are not flat (that rustic look, remember?) and so its very tedious but we are making progress. We also finished the plumbing prep work with the septic tank, and the plumber has come back and hooked that up to the house. He installed our hot water heater and got us almost ready for the gas and water inspection. We are working on getting quotes for the floor to be refinished and that hopefully will be done in early January. The marble company came and installed our master vanities (unfortunately they were not right so we had them tear it out and are having them re-done to actually match the shower this time) and they put the glass in the master shower. The shower looks perfect and I am so pleased with the finished result! The plumber is supposed to come back sometime this week and put in our shower heads and knobs so that the shower will look complete--yea!!

So thats what we have been working on and we plan to keep chipping away through the holidays to get the CO sometime early 2011.
