December Progress to Current

Okay so maybe I am a little behind in posting pictures and progress considering my last post was quite awhile ago. :) I am going to backtrack and fill in the gaps of what has happened from my last post until current. I have been having a hard time finding time to post and so I am sorry its been so long! We have been working really hard and made a lot of progress. We are really close to being finished and hope to keep making tracks to be in soon.

In December, we got the replacement vanities in the master bathroom placed. They look great and we were really pleased with that! We continued working on the Man Room walls. Jimmy and Barry came back to work on the molding for the top of the kitchen cabinets. We started stripping the paint off of the fireplace mantle. Dan worked on getting estimates for getting the floors refinished to hopefully have that started in Jan.

In January, we found out that the floor company could start on Jan 17th so we worked quickly to finish painting all the closets (small guest room, sitting room, central hallway) as well as the fireplace and the trim on the kitchen cabinets. We got it all done in time! We continued sanding the Man Room walls but didnt quite get finished (no big deal there since we are not painting the walls only sealing them). The floor guys got started and have almost finished. They should be back tomorrow to put the final coat on top and then we have to stay off of the floors for at least 5 days. Everyone has been itching to see the floors be done and so my parents and Dianne and Danny peaked in but hopefully will get a grand tour sometime this week. Dan and I were able to walk around yesterday morning before they started working on the second coat. They looked beautiful and it is amazing how much of a difference that makes by pulling everything together. We remember when the apartment floors were done and it was such a huge transformation and so we have been excited to watch this house be transformed.

Slowly we have ticked away at our list and only have a few things left! We sat down yesterday and it was amazing to see what little we actually have left to do. Of course that doesnt mean that it will go quickly by and we can move in "in 2 weeks" as Dan likes to say (check out the movie Money Pit to get the joke) but hopefully we can be finished soon.
