We walked into our apartment on Wednesday night to find a very horrible burning smell permeating the whole house. We tore it apart trying to figure out what the heck was going on but couldn't find anything wrong. Finally the next morning, Dan realized that the heater or AC never kicked on over night. He checked the system out and messed with it only to realize that it was fried--absolutely totally and completely dead. So not only do we have a house that smells like something has been on fire, we have no AC or Heat. Awesome. Perfect. Chalk up another point for the Renovation devil who has really gotten us good.
So long story short, we are not getting it fixed (mainly because of the bookoo bucks that will probably cost us). Luckily we happen to own a house that DOES have heat and AC so we are going to put our head down and barrel through the CO and move into the house...in two days (if we can get the CO on Monday). And to answer the question I am sure you are all wondering, yes, it is actually pretty much ready or will be after we finish with it this weekend. As you may recall, the CO list was down to 1 item and the Miss Priss list should be pared down pretty easily as well. The only thing that we will lack is the kitchen which will actually be finished up the following weekend with the cabinet door install. Appliances should be in early the week after that (cross our fingers).
As several of my friends and family told me when hearing our newest update, "I think God is answering your prayer and kicking you in your tail to get you in that house!" God's plan is not always exactly what we thought but I trust fully in Him to help us get this done and into a house that smells a lot better and has AC!!!
