We had an awesome weekend filled with friends, football and of course more painting!
My favorite Army Wife, Sarah, came up from Savannah with her 3 month old boy Finn (or Finn-Finn as we like to call him). Daddy McCoy is currently deployed (our thoughts and prayers are ALWAYS with him) and since Sarah is a very accomplished painter having many miles of painting under her belt, we twisted her arm and offered her a place to stay and a free babysitter (courtesy of Mom Salisbury) and so she brought her own special paintbrush and edger and off we went!
We actually were able to get a TON of work done with her help. We got the Sitting Room almost completely finished and also got the side hallway walls painted. It was so nice and refreshing to have her with us and just being able to chit chat and catch up while we worked was great. I even rigged up cable coming from the "Carriage House" AKA garage apartment into the "Big House" so that we wouldn't miss Clemson playing Miami and for it to feel like a real fall Saturday with sounds of the game in the background.
We also loved having sweet Finn to love on and he is such a good baby! We kept giving him to Dan so he would have "male influence" and not become a serial killer due to lack of exposure to testosterone in his first 4 months of life. If Sarah really read that somewhere or was just hoping to encourage Dan to want one of his own, we will never know... :)
I would have loved to have her stay all week, but, alas, she had to go back home. It was not the same painting the Sitting Room tonight without her and so we hope she will make the trip back up soon, if not to paint then just to visit!
Thanks, Sarah, for all your hard work, you will never know how much that meant to us!
